Boats that make me smile

Some boats make me envious – wide beam barges with bright shiny paintwork; some boats impress – beautiful old wooden cruisers, and some boats really make me smile. These are a few of the latter:

A big orange lifeboat near Kensal Rise on the Grand Union Canal,

Three brightly coloured boats moored near Regent’s Park,

Nemesis is a very modish boat. Can’t help wondering what the interior is like,

Shed looks like… a shed,

And Philona in Little Venice is a classy boat, with its illustrations of dancers and musicians,

Is it a cruiser? Or a narrowboat? Spotted on the River Trent.

Cruiser or narrowboat on the River Trent?

And as for this one, on the Thames near Brentford? Words fail me…

Thanks for your interest in Philona – I redesigned and completely refurbished her over 7 years. The paintings are from Clarice Cliff’s The Age of Jazz series of pottery from the 30′s – the other side has two different musicians and the opposite sides of the dancers (ie. his face, her back) Philona is rare and genuine quality and we miss her, we miss her.

That boat Nemesis, I also wonder what it would look like inside…dim comes to mind; very tiny windows.
