Rickmansworth

There seems to have been a long-standing problem with unlicensed and scruffy boats, with heaps of rubbish in piles behind them, just outside Rickmansworth. Although I believe on principle that everyone should pay their licence, I don’t usually get all that het up about it; but when they start piling up their detritus on the canal banks, that’s just not right. It spoils the canals and gives the public a bad impression of boaters.

The problem seems to have lessened. There were fewer of these boats when I last drove up here; maybe they got towed away. Bright orange “no mooring” buoys have been placed on the other side from the towpath.
